HAVE KIDS WHO WANT TO GET STARTED IN CYCLING?

We love to see kids on bikes. We've created this information page to share with anyone who has kids who want to get started in cycling through the venues and programming we have here at the Indy Cycloplex

VELODROME

(online registration only) Our Wednesday night junior training sessions are the easiest way for young riders to learn the track. Riders under 15 do not need to start with our Track 101 clinic, they can just come on a Wednesday night, hop on a rental bike, and learn from our coaches about everything related to riding the track! No need to be intimidated by fixed gear bikes without brakes! .

BMX

BMX BASICS - New Rider Clinic Series - May 2020 - more info and registration here!

BMX is a great way to get started in cycling, for kids of ALL ages. The BMX track is open two nights a week (Wednesday and Friday 6-8pm) with racing every Sunday. Riders are encouraged to come check it out; we have rental bikes available for those that do not have a BMX bike. The only gear you need to get started is a full-face helmet, long sleeve shirts and long pants (elbow and knee pads with appropriate coverage), and a bike without knobby tires, pegs, or a kickstand. Many of our riders in the BMX community are easily available and happy to answer questions about getting started in BMX, and there are plenty of resources available at usabmx.com as well.
